The Gag is Lifted!

At the conclusion of a very consuming legal issue, I was presented with an order to be gagged.  Essentially the order explained, I will give you this, in exchange for your voice, your silence, never to speak of this again. The initial invitation immediately angered me; it took me back to the place where the abuse and control had begun. Everything about that time began to resurface for me, the shame, the hurt, the anger and the guilt. Although the darkness had been brought to light, the attempt to use the system to further infiltrate control was made evident in the final attempt to cover the truth. I can remember lashing out inwardly, "first you try to rob me of my dignity, my self-worth and now you want to take my voice, silence me!"  But it wasn’t long after that very thought that l had actually become empowered. What did I have that was so important to the enemy that he desired to keep me silent? What power did I possess? What did the enemy want access to? Most importantly, whose healing would be interrupted if I accepted? Needless to say, I declined the offer and my decision to trust God by being his mouth piece had superseded any offer presented and I can truly say that “The Gag had been lifted” and the power of God prevailed. Like Jesus in the wilderness (Matt. 4:1-11), the enemy came to tempt him with what he thought would shift him out of place, but what he failed to realize was that the very riches and honor he offered, had already been promised to Jesus. Jesus was not moved by the enemy's attempt to distract Him and neither shall we.

The enemy's devices have and will forever be used to hinder the people of God and his tactics will never change. His overall goal is to steal and kill and destroy every aspect of your spiritual life in connection with God, and if successful, you can expect your natural life to be a world full of confusion and strife. A gag is a pure representation of bondage in every way. In the legal world a Gag order (also known as a gagging order or suppression order) is an order, typically a legal order by a court or government, restricting information or comments from being made public. It is also known as the order to suppress, which is to keep from public knowledge or to keep secret. Spiritually that is exactly what the enemy attempts to do to us through shame, guilt, pride, anger and hurt bringing upon the spirit of suppression, oppression or bondage into our lives, stifling our spiritual growth and restraining us from fulfilling our God ordained purpose. The more we walk in the bondage of these spiritual inhibitors, the more we feed the enemy's agenda to distort both our purpose as well as the purpose of those divinely connected to us.

Jeremiah 1:19 They will fight against you but will not overcome you, for I am with you and will rescue you,” declares the Lord.

The power in using your voice to speak out against the evils that exist in the world today can be very challenging, and of course the enemy will use any tactic possible to keep your voice from being heard.  The key is believing and trusting that God "got you". The very fact that the enemy tries his hardest to keep you bound is a firm indication that there is evidence of greatness, alongside a specially designed key entrusted to you to unlock purpose in others by releasing the spirit of bondage and fear found in the power of your voice. There is a dying world that we encounter daily that needs to hear what’s in your heart. Your words, your story, your truth will provoke the change necessary to reverse the effects of the enemy in the lives of many. God desires us to speak out boldly to the world as well as to the religious woes found within the four walls of the church, which has been strategically aligned to "gag" the children of God with its false representation of who God really is and how he should operate in our lives. Exposure is key to healing in every regard. In the process of healing of a simple wound, scab development happens much sooner when a wound is uncovered and exposed, opposed to being covered. This remains true to the process of healing in the world as well as in the Body of Christ. Will there be opposition? Of course! As long as there is an enemy, there will be opposition, but God will cover those who stand in the mist of persecution, … He will not fail you or forsake you.

Proverbs 18:21 The tongue has the power of life and death...

The Power of God is revealed through your voice. Your strength is in your voice and someone’s healing is tied into your story and connected to your truth. The enemy may try to steal your joy and create barriers that would have you to believe that you will never have the strength capacity to withstand, but his devices will not prevail. As much as we should be very cognizant of what we say to prevent damaging a soul, we must also be very aware of the very things we possess and need to communicate to encourage healing to a bleeding heart. Be reminded that all things that you have encountered were not meant to break you, but may have been designed to create an environment of freedom for others as God's grace and mercy continue to prevail in your life. We learn from the word of God that Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance... Allow your story, your test, to feed life into someone who may find themselves in a dying situation. The act of self-condemnation, fear, shame and hurt can bridle the tongue and dictate to the God given power dwelling inside of you creating a sense of powerlessness. In those times, allow yourself to speak life to that dead situation and watch how God will use your life, through your voice, to bring life to others.

Revelation 12:11 They triumphed over him (the enemy) by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony...

It is the sole purpose of the enemy to gag your voice, your purpose, your dreams and most importantly your relationship with God. It is imperative as children of God that we seek and find God in every situation we encounter, both the good and the bad.  The Word of God states in Romans 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. As we overcome trials, tribulations and through complete healing, we are encouraged to allow our testimony to bring glory to God. This in turn brings healing to others, resulting in complete victory over the enemy.

Be free from the "gag" of the enemy! It will first take your understanding of God, which will introduce you to a greater understanding of your purpose, bringing you to the place where you comfortably embrace your pain and sufferings, opening the door for the healing of others. As you free yourself from the gag of the enemy, you will have the power to free others!

The Gag is lifted!
